It is difficult to estimate how many counterfeit electroluminescent products are in the market. European Commission admitted that in 2006 the number of cases taken by customs involving goods infringing intellectual property rights, as well as the number of articles seized increased dramatically. As a matter of example, in 2006, customs intercepted more than 128 million counterfeit and pirated articles, involving 37.334 cases (European Commission, Summary of Community Customs Activities on Counterfeit and Piracy, Results at the European Border – 2006). The problem of counterfeiting is more widely recognized in the luxury goods industry than in the image consumables industry.

As with any popular product there will always be inferior copies; many coming out of Asia and being distributed by reputable companies. We would always warn companies about these items which will not have legitimate CE or RoHS certificates. On top of this the name T-Qualizer® is a registered trademark.




All FlashWear® products come with the holographic sticker and are branded FlashWear®. If your product does not have these it is not a "genuine flashwear" product.

Key #1 - The panel edge - The background color of the equalizer shirt panel will be screen printed right to the edge, as shown in this photo. A genuine T-Qualizer® equalizer shirt will not have a transparent, or white border around its panel

Key #2 - Rounded corners - Genuine T-Qualizer®s (regardless of style) all feature rounded corners on the panels, as opposed to sharp 90 degree angles.

Key #3 - Panel color - An authentic T-Qualizer® Equalizer Shirt or FlashWear® Anim8 shirt will feature a color-rich panel (where the lights comes from) as opposed to a dull, washed out look. This is the difference between high-quality screen printing, and low-cost ink-jet printing.
